EWTEC 2017 Abstract submission deadline: 27th January !

The 12th European Wave and Tidal Energy Conference will be held between 27th August and 1st September 2017 at University College Cork in Ireland. Thinking to attend and present your work? Don’t miss the abstract submission deadline next Friday 27th ! Authors will be notified of acceptance by TUESDAY 28th FEBRUARY and full papers will be due by FRIDAY 19th MAY 2017. The thematic tracks are all related to wave and tidal energy: Wave / tidal resource characterization Wave / tidal device development and testing Wave / tidal hydrodynamic modelling. Grid integration, Power take-off and control Station keeping, moorings and foundations Structural mechanics: materials, fatigue, loadings. Environmental impact and appraisal Operations and maintenance Economic, social, legal & political aspects of ocean energy This year INOREans wanting to attend the INORE European Symposium will have the opportunity to combine it on the same trip with EWTEC as the symposium will take place in the west coast of Ireland the week right before the conference (20th to 26th of August).   WavEC Seminar 2016 and B2B meetings – 26th and 27th of October 2016, Lisbon, Portugal   WavEC Seminar 2016 and B2B meetings – 26th and 27th of October 2016, Lisbon, Portugal WavEC Offshore Renewables gathers this year with the Embassy of Finland in Lisbon, Machine Technology Center Turku, Tekes – the Finnish Funding Agency for Innovation and the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment of Finland in the organisation of its Annual Seminar. The event will take place on the 26th of October in Lisbon, Portugal and is supported under the high patronage of His Excellency, the President of the Republic of Portugal and counts with the presence of the Minister of Seas of Portugal. This year we will focus on the following issues: – Synergies between Marine Renewable Energies (MRE) and other economic maritime activities, such as aquaculture and supporting technologies (vessels, submarine robotics, modeling and others) and sustainable use of resources. – Examples of pilot MRE projects: experience from Finland and Portugal. – Collaboration between Portugal and Finland in MRE and other activities at sea. Projects of the Portuguese government and review of national legislation. – Round table about the future of energy in the world, Finland and Portugal and the role to play by Renewables, particularly MRE.
