There are very likely to be members of INORE from your institution! We are a sounding board and showcase for academic research via face-to-face interactions and posters, presentations and publications at INORE Symposia and events and on the website. Since its creation in 2003, WavEC has been dedicated to the development and promotion of wave energy, offshore wind and other renewable energies, through technical and strategic support to companies and public entities, as well as participation in R&I projects. In particular, WavEC renders services to entities wishing to explore the attractive natural conditions of Portugal for demonstration of marine renewable energy.
For more than 75 years, the Maritime Research Institute Netherlands (MARIN) has been contributing to the development of safe and economic ships and offshore structures as independent advisor. This is done through model tests, simulations, desk studies, full-scale measurements, safety studies and training. With the resulting knowledge of the ocean environment and the hydrodynamics of ships and offshore structures, MARIN sees it as its responsibility to contribute to the development of renewable energy offshore from waves, tides and wind.
Umbra Group is a manufacturing company that designs and produces bearings, ball screws and electromechanical actuators for aeronautic, energy and industrial markets. It employs more than 900 people between Italy, Germany and USA. In the past years, Umbra also developed a reciprocating electrical generator for wave and tidal energy applications, based on the integration of a recirculating ball screw and a permanent magnet electrical generator. Umbra started to support INORE in 2015 with the sponsorship of the Symposium in Italy and continues to support and help in the organization of the 2016 INORE Workshop at AWTEC in Singapore.
The Ocean Energy Systems Technology Collaboration Program (OES) is an intergovernmental collaboration between countries operating under the aegis of the International Energy Agency (IEA).
Its Vision is to see OES becoming an Authoritative International Voice for Ocean Energy, working to promote and accelerate the uptake of ocean energy as a sustainable energy supply option.
OES main goal is to advance research, development and demonstration of energy technologies from all forms of ocean renewable resources: tides, waves, currents, temperature gradient and salinity gradient for electricity generation, as well as for other uses, such as desalination. This goal is pursued through international cooperation and information exchange.
